HireLogic is an interview intelligence tool that captures all three kinds of interview: it joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet calls when invited, listens to phone calls when you conference in its number, and records in-person interviews through a companion app. The best alternative depends on which of those you run most. Metaview and BrightHire suit in-house teams on video, the notetakers built into Greenhouse and Ashby suit their own customers, CoRecruit suits staffing firms, Otter suits tight budgets, and bot-free desktop tools suit teams who want nothing joining the call.

Every vendor fact below was checked on the vendor's own site as of September 2026 and is linked. HireLogic does not publish prices, so this page compares what can be verified and tells you what to ask.

What HireLogic does

From HireLogic's homepage and Why HireLogic page, as of September 2026:

Capture

  • Video: invite HireLogic by email to Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, and it joins automatically.
  • Phone: conference in the HireLogic phone number to have it listen to your call.
  • In person: open the companion app on any device to start listening.

What it produces

  • Interview summaries in short, medium or long versions, filterable by topics such as leadership and problem-solving.
  • Matching of the interview discussion against the job description's qualifications.
  • Compliance detection that flags potentially discriminatory or personal questions, framed as coaching opportunities.
  • Job descriptions and interview guides generated from intake calls.
  • An interview chatbot for asking questions about past interviews, resume analysis, automated AI interviews, and team analytics.

For larger teams

  • SOC 2 and GDPR statements on the homepage; single sign-on with Okta and Active Directory; custom data retention and PII redaction.
  • An ATS integration where insights flow into the ATS, though specific ATS names are not listed on those pages.
  • It says it serves HR teams, hiring managers, and staffing and RPO firms.

Covering phone, video and in-room interviews with one product is less common than it sounds, and the intake-call and compliance features go beyond note-taking. Keep both in mind when you compare.

Why teams compare alternatives

  • No published price. The homepage offers a free sign-up, but prices are not on the site, and the old pricing page address returned a not-found error when we checked.
  • A participant on video calls. HireLogic joins Zoom, Teams and Meet as an invited attendee, which some candidates and some meeting policies do not accept.
  • A dial-in step on phone screens. Conferencing in a number on every call is one more thing to remember on a busy screening day.
  • ATS fit you can check up front. Teams on Greenhouse, Ashby or Bullhorn may want a named integration before the first demo.
  • Different output. Agencies need client submittals; in-house teams may want structured scorecards more than topic summaries.

Each alternative, and who it suits

Metaview

Metaview's AI Notes FAQ describes a Notetaker bot on Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex and phone capture by calling its switchboard. It publishes Free (25 calls a month) and Pro ($60 per user per month) plans (pricing) and lists more than 100 ATS and HR systems on its integrations page. Its homepage also lists sourcing, application review and screening agents. Suits: in-house teams that want a published price, a named ATS integration and a wider recruiting platform. Less suited to: teams leaving HireLogic to get a participant out of their calls.

BrightHire

BrightHire runs inside Zoom without a per-call bot, joins Google Meet as a participant, and captures Teams when you add its recorder address to the invite (interview notes page). Its pricing page lists video, phone and in-person capture in the Recruiters plan, and an AI interviewer called BrightHire Screen, with no prices. It is now part of Zoom (Zoom's announcement). Suits: Zoom-first in-house teams that also want an AI interviewer and interview planning. Less suited to: small teams or staffing firms looking for a published price. For a head-to-head, see Metaview vs BrightHire.

Greenhouse Notetaker and Ashby AI Notetaker

If your ATS already includes a note-taker, test it before buying anything. Greenhouse Notetaker joins Zoom, Meet and Teams on the Core, Plus and Pro tiers (product page); its security FAQ says transcription is English only and phone and in-person interviews are not supported. Ashby's AI Notetaker joins your meetings, and each plan includes 500 interviews to try it with no expiry. Suits: teams whose interviews are almost all scheduled video calls. Less suited to: teams who chose HireLogic for its phone and in-person coverage. We cover the Greenhouse gaps in Greenhouse Notetaker alternatives.

CoRecruit

CoRecruit (formerly Quil) is built for recruitment agencies. Its pricing page describes capture across cell phone calls, VoIP, Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, WhatsApp, FaceTime and in-person meetings without visible bots, branded submittals, and syncs to 40+ ATS including Bullhorn, Vincere, Loxo and Crelate. Starter is $85 per user per month on an annual term or $64 paid upfront, all plans have a 12-month minimum term, and there is a 7-day free trial. Suits: staffing and search firms that used HireLogic for phone screens and want submittals and an included phone line. Less suited to: in-house HR teams. More in CoRecruit alternatives.

Otter.ai

Otter's desktop app for Mac and Windows records without a bot on Zoom, Google Meet, Slack Huddles and in person. Pricing is Basic free with 300 minutes a month and a 30-minute cap per conversation, Pro at $16.99 a month ($8.33 billed yearly), and Business at $30 a month ($19.99 billed yearly). Suits: hiring managers and small HR teams who want inexpensive transcripts of video and in-room interviews. Less suited to: teams that relied on HireLogic's compliance flags, job-description matching or AI interviews.

Interview Signal

A desktop app for Windows and macOS that captures audio on the interviewer's own computer, so nothing joins Zoom, Teams or Meet, and phone screens that run through that computer are captured without dialing in. It builds a live question guide from the job description, ticks off must-ask questions as they are covered, and writes scorecards whose evidence quotes are checked against the transcript; for onsite panels, questions are split across interviewers and coverage syncs between them. Transcripts stay on the computer (security), and pricing is published (pricing). Less suited to: teams that need AI interviews, analytics across a large team, or notes written into an ATS automatically.

Replacing HireLogic's extras

If you used HireLogic only for notes, any tool above replaces it. If you used the features beyond notes, plan for each one explicitly, because most alternatives package them differently or not at all.

HireLogic featureQuestion to ask alternativesIf no tool does it
Job descriptions and interview guides from intake callsCan you turn a recorded intake call into a guide, or build a guide from a pasted job description?Run intake with a fixed question set and write the guide from it; see intake meeting questions and the interview guide template
Compliance detection for personal or discriminatory questionsDo you flag risky questions, and who sees the flag: the interviewer, the recruiter or an admin?Train interviewers before their first loop; see the first-time hiring manager guide
Matching the discussion to job qualificationsDo scores or notes map to our competencies, with evidence from the transcript?Use an anchored scorecard with an evidence column
Automated AI interviewsIs an AI interviewer part of the product, and how are candidates told?A separate screening tool, or structured recruiter phone screens
Interview chatbot over past interviewsCan we search or ask questions across all interviews for a role?Searchable transcripts, organized by requisition
SSO, custom retention, PII redactionWhich of these are in the plan we would buy, not only in Enterprise?Make it a procurement requirement

One caution on compliance flags. A flag after the interview tells you a problem happened; it does not undo the question. The cheaper fix is upstream: structured questions written in advance and a short training on what not to ask. Our guide to what not to write in interview notes covers the note-taking side.

Test the phone workflow first

Teams usually pick HireLogic partly because it handles phone screens. That is also the workflow most likely to break when you switch, so test it before anything else. Copy this script, run it with a colleague playing the candidate, and fill in the results for each tool on your shortlist.

Phone screen test (one per tool, same colleague, same questions)

Setup
- Phone setup used: [mobile / softphone / desk phone / Teams calling]
- Tool: [name]

During the call
1. Steps before capture started (count them): ___
2. Did the "candidate" hear a notice or tone? [yes/no]
3. Read the consent line. Pause capture for 30 seconds,
then resume. Did the pause work? [yes/no]
4. Ask: current pay, notice period, one project with a number
   in it, reason for leaving.

After the call
5. Minutes from hang-up to readable notes: ___
6. Were both voices transcribed? [yes/no]
7. Pay, notice period and the project number correct? [0-3]
8. Where did the notes end up (tool, ATS, email)? ___
9. Minutes to get them into our ATS or scorecard: ___

A tool that needs fewer steps but gets the notice period wrong is worse than one with an extra step that gets it right. Compare line 7 before anything else. For the recording options themselves, see how to record a phone screen, and for the notice to give candidates, the consent guide.

When HireLogic is still the right choice

Stay with HireLogic, or choose it, if your interviews are a genuine mix of video, phone and in-room conversations and you want one tool for all three; if you use its intake-call, compliance-flag or AI interview features; if a participant joining video calls is acceptable to your candidates; and if you are a staffing or RPO firm that wants those features without an agency-specific platform. Its SSO, custom retention and PII redaction also matter to larger HR teams.

Look elsewhere when you need a price before a sales conversation, a named integration with your ATS, capture without a participant on video, or agency-specific output such as client submittals.

Questions people ask

How much does HireLogic cost?

HireLogic does not publish prices on its own site as of September 2026. Its homepage offers a free sign-up, and its former pricing page address returned a not-found error when we checked. Third-party listings quote figures, but confirm any price with HireLogic directly.

Does HireLogic join the call as a bot?

On video, yes: HireLogic's homepage says you invite it by email to Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet and it joins automatically. For phone calls you conference in a HireLogic number, and for in-person interviews you open its companion app on a device in the room.

Which HireLogic alternative covers phone, video and in-person interviews?

CoRecruit describes capture on phone, video, WhatsApp and in-person meetings for agencies, and BrightHire lists video, phone and in-person capture in its Recruiters plan. Desktop tools such as Interview Signal cover video and phone screens that run through your computer. Test each on your real phone setup.

Is there an alternative that flags illegal interview questions like HireLogic?

HireLogic's homepage describes compliance detection that flags potentially discriminatory or personal questions. Ask any alternative directly whether it does this, and do not rely on software alone: interviewer training and structured questions prevent the problem before it reaches a transcript.
